Spring and summer sports are quickly approaching!
In 2016, the Village of Minster Council made the decision to place Automated External Defibrillator (AED) units in village owned buildings, in all of the police cruisers and at both the Paris Street Park and Four Seasons Park.
An automated external defibrillator (AED) is a portable electronic device that automatically diagnoses the life-threatening cardiac arrhythmias of ventricular fibrillation in a patient and is able to treat them through defibrillation, with the application of electrical therapy which stops the arrhythmia, allowing the heart to reestablish an effective rhythm.
When an AED and CPR are immediately available, the chance of survival from sudden cardiac arrest is substantially improved, perhaps by as much as 75% or more.
Please make sure you are aware of the placements of the AED units when you are at Paris Street and/or Four Seasons Park so you are ready if an emergency situation occurs until emergency personnel arrives.
