The Minster Electric Department will be celebrating Public Power Week, October 1 - 7, along with more than 2,000 other electric utilities that collectively provide electricity on a not-for-profit basis to 45 million Americans.
This year will mark Public Power Week's 31st anniversary as a country-wide program to celebrate the importance of public power to local citizens and other key public officials, including state and national officials.
“Public Power Week is an annual event that celebrates the benefits of publicly owned electric utilities," said John Neuman, Minster Electric Superintendent. "Our electric utility operates to benefit the entire community, as well as to provide safe, reliable power and high-quality customer service, all at low rates. We hope that our customers will celebrate with us and appreciate the benefits that public power brings to them."
