The Minster Civic Association held its monthly meeting at The Wooden Shoe on Tuesday, March 27, 2018. Following our social hour and dinner we heard from two speakers. First Leon Mertz spoke to us about an adaptive Boat Launch Ramp he hopes to install at Lake Loramie to make it possible for handicapped individuals to enjoy kayaking on the lake. A brief video was presented. The members agreed to consider the project and will make a decision at our next meeting. Next we heard from Tim Buschur who gave us an update on the Tri-Star 2.0 Expansion Project. He informed us that many more students are taking advantage of the Tri-Star program and that the program adapts continuously to meet the needs of local students and employers.
We then heard reports from Don Harrod, Village Administrator, regarding several projects the village is working on currently. The 5th Street Improvement Project may be completed very soon, if weather allows. Next, Brenda Boeke, Minster School Superintendent, explained the bids for the school remodeling project will be reviewed soon. The member of the Civic Association then discussed a proposed donation to the Minster Historical Society to help with their expansion project. We agreed to donate $5,000 towards the project.
The next Civic Association meeting is planned for April and will be scheduled at a different time due to multiple conflicts on the planned date. Please watch for the announcement next month.
