Council recently passed updated legislation on litter and weeds that will have an affect on many members of the community. Here’s a quick snapshot of the changes:
Section 92.11 of the Minster Codified Ordinances previously required property owners to cut weeds/grass every 30 days after the required public notice has been published. The new legislation requires property owners to cut weeds/grass every 15 days. The public notice will be advertised July 19th with enforcement 15 days later. Noxious weed violations should be reported to the Minster Administration Office.
Council further amended section 92.11 to include a more specific definition of litter. The definition for litter now includes, among other things, animal waste or feces, grass clippings and leaves or anything else of an unsightly or unsanitary nature. The modifications also state, “No person, regardless of intent, shall deposit litter or cause litter to be deposited on any public property, on private property not owned by him, or in or on waters of the state.” Litter violations should be reported to the Minster Police Department.
